Writers can submit to any and all of four annual awards with cash prizes: the Utopia Fiction Prize (novels), Utopia Anthology Prize (short fiction, nonfiction, and poems), Utopia Nonfiction Prize (book-length), and Utopia Poetry Prize (collections/chapbooks). Each submission is considered not only for the prize itself but also for publication in our upcoming list.

By entering, you’ll be joining a community of authors, poets, and essayists whose work explores what “utopia” can mean today, the border between “no place” and “good place,” between dreaming and becoming. We’re especially drawn to writing that situates readers somewhere vivid, be it a real city or the landscape of memory.

This first round of submissions marks a special moment for us and for every writer who enters. Together, we’ll be defining Utopia’s voice. Accepted works will help shape our debut catalogue and announce our arrival as a new home for well-travelled writing.
